Curriculum
1. What is the school curriculum?
Our internationalized curriculum is comprehensive and designed to provide a well-rounded education.
2. What is the language of instruction?
All subjects are taught in English, except for Chinese where we use Putonghua.
3. How is your STEAM curriculum different from other schools?
Our school-based STEAM curriculum is science-led.We use the Scientific Investigation approach to learn the science concepts.Students apply the concepts together with their skills in math, art, technology, and engineering in the form of projects.
4. Do you offer ECA (Extra-curricular activities)?
To deepen our students' learning, we have two 45-minute sessions of ECA during curriculum time. These sessions are compulsory and included in the tuition fees.
We also have optional after-school activities (ASA) 4 days a week to widen students’ learning experiences.

1. What is the teacher-student ratio?
Our current teacher-student ratio is 1 to 8.
2. Will you have upper primary classes?
Our primary school goes up to Year 6. We will open a year level each year in the next three years.
Admissions information
1. What is the eligibility criteria?
Children who have the right of abode in Hong Kong are eligible to apply for admission. Please refer to our admission policy here
2. My child does not have a permanent Hong Kong Identity Card. Is he/she eligible for applying for the school?
Either one of the parents is required to have a Hong Kong Identity card for their child to be eligible for application. The child also requires a visa or entry permit to Hong Kong.
3. What is the application/ admission timeline?
Applications are currently accepted on a rolling admission system.Parents can apply throughout the year and students are admitted in a year level based on their age and the availability of places. Please refer to our admission policy here for more details.
4. How much is the school fee?
Please refer to the admissions policy here for this year’s school fees. Parents are also required to pay an Annual Capital Levy (subject to EDB approval). Apart from the school fees and capital levy, there are other miscellaneous expenses such as books and uniforms. Lunch and school bus are optional.
5. What is capital levy?
As a private school that does not receive government funding, Anchors Academy relies on the capital levy to finance long-term, large-scale school development. This includes constructing, renovating, and enhancing campus facilities etc.
6. What is the age for Year 1 admission?
Year 1 students should turn six by December of the school year.
7. Do you offer scholarships?
We have a Scholarship scheme. Scholarship recipients are awarded a 50% school fee remission for their first year at Anchors Academy.They may reapply and undergo a reassessment process each year up to Year 6. The scholarship is open for application in May to children who have a place reserved at Anchors Academy.Results will be announced in June.
8. Can we visit the school?

General
1. What are the school hours?
The school hours are from 8:25am to 3:25pm. Students start with a 25-minute lesson in the morning (phonics, spelling, reading, etc.) followed by six 45-minute lessons each day.Students who participate in ASA (after-school activities, optional) may stay until 4:30 or 5:00 pm.
2. Where do your teachers come from?
Our Class Teachers are native English speakers, mostly trained in the UK. Our specialists (PE, Chinese, Music, STEAM, ICT) are proficient in English and Chinese. They are experienced teachers who have worked in other international or private schools in Hong Kong or overseas.
3. What are your school facilities?
We are proud of our state-of-the-art campus, well-equipped with facilities such as an Auditorium, an indoor swimming pool, and an Innovation Lab.For outdoor space, we have a basketball court, a soccer pitch, a running track, and a badminton court.
4. Are there school bus services?
We currently have bus lines mainly serving the northern district covering areas such as Yuen Long, Sheung Shui and Tuen Mun. More school bus lines can be offered depending on demand.
5. Does the school provide school lunch?
Lunch can be ordered through the school’s catering supplier. Parents can also choose to bring in lunch for their child.
